20+ Barn Wedding Styling Ideas with a Hint of Gold

Have you booked a barn for your wedding venue? How lucky you are, I love this style of venue. Whether your barn is a traditional barn with old beams and exposed brickwork or a newer style barn with polished beams and glass you have made a great choice. Just because you have chosen a barn style venue doesn’t mean you HAVE to go completely RUSTIC with your venue and table styling. Yes, it’s nice to choose a style that complements your venue choice but this post is meant to help you understand how you can add some glamour to your barn wedding styling. We have chosen to focus our ideas on rustic styling with a hint of gold. Of course, you could choose other metallics to create the same look – brass – silver – copper…

20+ Barn Wedding Styling Ideas with a Hint of Gold

Barn Styling Ideas

Below we have chosen some of our favourite ideas that would help you add a hint of glamour to your barn wedding venue. See more of these ideas and photo credits on our RUSTIC GLAMOUR PINTEREST BOARD

Backdrops look great against exposed brickwork, this large hoop has an asymmetric floral design with gorgeous gold script incorporated into the design and a load of cylinder vases at the base. How about this for a ceremony backdrop or behind the top table, imagine the photographs.

Buttonholes – glam up your buttonholes and ask your florist for spray roses with some textured flowers, foliage is essential for a natural look. Finish off the stems with twine (more rustic) or luxe chiffon ribbons (ribbon and twine available to purchase here)

There are endless possibilities for your tables, I am drawn to garlands along wooden tables for a rustic barn venue. Luxury flowers such as roses with textured foliage and berries to make a garland running along the table is always a stunning option, add int small gold tea light holders and glass cylinder vases for lanterns for an elegant look. (Gold tea light holders available to purchase here)

For a round table  I love tree slices for centrepieces, either one in the centre of a stack with small bud vases or gold/brass lanterns on the wood. These really look great in barns and are an easy DIY centrepice if you want to have a go yourself. (Tree slices available purchase here)

This light and airy look is gorgeous for long wedding tables. Glass and gold work wonderfully together, flowers along the table in a mix of white and green keep the look classic and light – often important in barns which can be dark inside. (Glass and gold tea light holders available to purchase here)

Candlesticks really are essential in my opinion for creating this rustic glamour look. Here a table is styled simply with a cream cotton table runner, lose laid eucalyptus foliage and brass and gold candlesticks. (Gold Candlesticks available to purchase here)

Again, more candlesticks for your inspiration boards.

For a gold/brass cards box for your wedding cards and gifts table we love this idea. Use a brass lantern and get wording of your choice printed as a vinyl sticker and placed onto it so guests know it’s a card box.

Create a backdrop for your wedding cake. I mean who wouldn’t love this at their wedding. Whether you are having a traditional wedding cake or donut tower, as shown here, why not make is a focal point for your decor. Hanging flowers and foliage on silk ribbons above the cake and copious amounts tea light holders behind look WOW.

Place settings are a great way to get your style across, a small spring or cluster of foliage on each napkin ties with twine, raffia or ribbon can look stunning. If you are giving individual menus for each guest lay them on the plate too.

For a more rustic look, small wooden tree slices can be personalised with your guest’s names. Either write on them yourself, enlist the help of a friend with artistic handwriting or ask an expert.

Table runners will really set the look of your tables, opt for natural linen in colours of your choice. You can even add lovely finishing touches at the end of the tables – a sprig of roesmary tied with twine for a lovely scent as guests enter the room.

Brass/gold lanterns in square designs can add another dimension to your table styling, add these lanterns in and around a foliage garland for that rusic glamour look.

Another long table with a light and airy summer look. A cotton table runner has been placed down the table, loosely laid ruscus foliage is entwined through a mix of gold candlesticks and clear tea lights. (Gold candlesticks can be purchased online here)

For a dark and moody look try foliage in a darker green running down the table with clear glass lanterns, often cylinder vases and jam jars with pillar candles can look great.

You don’t always need flowers, here a grouping of candlesticks in varying sizes on a grey runner is all that is needed, and it looks amazing don’t you think.

Table numbers in brass frames are always a winner in my opinion. They work well for lots of wedding styles and would look great in a barn setting. Brass frames come empty but you can write your own table numbers on handmade cotton paper or ask an expert. (Brass frames for table numbers and handmade cotton paper can be purchased online here)
